howlongtillAItakesyourjob.com tells you, precise to the day, when AI takes over your job. Then it tells you what to do with the feeling that gives you. That second part is the point.
Type your job, answer four quick questions, and a split-flap departures board stamps your date: the estimated day AI takes over your work. An accountant gets 2029. A software developer gets 2030. A plumber gets 2061 and permission to feel smug. The site covers 774 occupations in five languages, built on published labor research, with a scenario toggle running from Optimist to Doomer ("assumes the CEOs are right for once").
The twist is the sender. The site was built by Bram van der Boom, a Dutch psychiatrist who treats anxiety for a living, and it refuses to leave visitors alone with their date. Every result ends in an appeals procedure: concrete moves that push the date back, a letter from the Bureau of Scheduled Obsolescence, and a word from the doctor about what career fear is actually for. By the site's own math, his date is 2042. He also coined the word for what his site hands out: the doomdate. AI anxiety has been in the scientific literature since 2017; what is new, he argues, is that everyone now has a doomdate.
The site is deliberately honest about its own precision. The methodology page is titled "How we calculated this, and why it is wrong". The day is theater. The trend, backed by occupation-level exposure research, is real.
Fear is a terrible forecaster and a decent alarm clock. If a countdown on a website made your stomach drop, that drop is information. It points at something you love.Bram van der Boom, psychiatrist and maker
The exact day is theater and we say so on the site. What is real is the order in which work changes. Accountants before plumbers. That order deserves a bigger conversation than it is getting.Bram van der Boom
AI anxiety has been in the literature since 2017. What is new is that everyone now has a doomdate. Doomdate anxiety is what walks into my consulting room, and the wink is part of the treatment.Bram van der Boom
By my own site's math, AI takes my job in 2042. I intend to be annoyingly hard to replace long before then. That intention is the whole point of the site.Bram van der Boom

Interviews in Dutch or English. Fast replies; the maker treats anxiety for a living and answering journalists turns out to be milder work.

De methodologiepagina heet "How we calculated this, and why it is wrong". De dag is theater. De volgorde waarin werk verandert, accountants vóór loodgieters, is echt.
